CEO’S MESSAGE

It is hard to believe we are fast approaching another year’s end! We welcomed the festive season with the launch of our annual Christmas Appeal and warmly thank Mummy’s Wish mum, Samantha Warren, for sharing her story as part of the campaign. In the spirit of Christmas, we encourage you to make Mummy’s Wish your charity of choice this festive season and into 2023.

Five teams (with one more to go this month) raised over $13,000 as part of our Mummy’s Wish Hike campaign. We are incredibly thankful and inspired by Benita, who shared her sister Annette’s story and again championed this year’s campaign.

Congratulations the unstoppable Carla Haddan for her hugely successful Big Lunch, as well as our inspiring corporate fundraising team at Cobild. Superstar community fundraiser Bogi hosted both her annual high tea and a Bunnings sausage sizzle in November, combined with a Crowdraiser for those who were unable to attend but wanted to support.

With various environmental factors including COVID, extreme weather conditions such as floods, and cost of living pressures, our supporters still did an amazing job across all of our campaigns and events – thank you for your contribution. We really could not do what we do without you.

We are pleased to welcome to the team Joanne Edwards, our new support coordinator who will be assisting mums at a time when they need it most. With over twenty years of experience working with children and their families, as well as a lived experience of cancer treatment, Joanne will provide amazing insights and tools to support our mums.

On 29 March, 2023 we are finally able to host our second ever Giving Day – save the date! As we start planning for the year ahead, we are looking to secure mutually beneficial partnerships for Giving Day and our campaigns throughout the year to ensure we can continue the rewarding work we do. Our funding relies solely on corporate and community support – if you are an organisation or foundation looking to partner with a charity, please email us to find out all the ways you can become involved.

In wonderful news we welcome Morgans Foundation as our first partner for Giving Day, who are generously donating $30,000. Please join Morgans Foundation and Mummy’s Wish to be a part of this impactful and rewarding day.

Because after all, a mum with cancer is still a mum.

Kind regards,

Angelique and the team

PRACTICAL SUPPORT FOR MUMS

2022 Impact – January to October

Kind Words from a Mummy’s Wish Mum

“Just wanted to let you know we received the parcel from you guys last week. It was absolutely perfect, I can’t thank you enough. The book is absolutely amazing for Ollie. He would read a page and then check in with a question… The book sparked some tears, luckily Ollie was reading it not me. He is protecting his teddy to no end. He has told people where he got it from and what you guys do. He is pretty proud and grateful. Thank you so so much!!” – ADELE
