Oh what a day! The fourth annual BIG Mumma’s Italian Feast hosted by Carla Haddan was bigger and better than ever on Thursday 4 April, raising $71,379 for Mummy’s Wish.

As the wine flowed, almost 150 guests enjoyed a family-style feast of Tartufo platters, including mozzarella di bufala; calamari fritti and dentice alla Sicilian.

Auction prizes included a stunning pair of bespoke earrings donated by Nicole Winkle Couture Jewellery after she was supported by Mummy’s Wish after she was diagnosed with cancer; as well as artwork by Joanna Davies and David Bromley.

A highlight of the event was when Carla’s husband Steve Haddan won the day’s major raffle prize—a weekend away at Alexandra Headland, which he then auctioned off, raising a further $2100.

Then, thanks to the generosity of Sarah Cohen who won the Gucci bag and kindly donated it back so we could re-raffle it, we raised a further $3000—taking the new fundraising total to almost $75,000!

Mummy’s Wish CEO Emma Bryant thanked all the guests, and sponsors, for their ongoing support, but especially Carla.

“For the past four years, Carla has raised the bar each year, sharing her passion and support of Mummy’s Wish with her friends and acquaintances and we can’t thank her enough!”

Thank you to everyone who came along to this year’s event, we can’t wait to do it all again in 2020!
