The team at Mummy’s Wish are celebrating this week after our inaugural Giving Day on Thursday raised more than $150,000 to help us grow so we can support more mums with cancer.

“We have big dreams; by 2025 we want to be able to support every mum with a young family who is diagnosed with cancer. That’s 5000 mums. Every year,” Mummy’s Wish Chief Executive Officer Emma Bryant said.

“Which is why, in the lead up to Mother’s Day, we decided to do something big and bold and raise more than $120,000 as we could, in just one day.”

Within 24 hours, $154,810 was donated.

“We thought our original target was ambitious but achievable, but we have been blown away by the support we received from across Australia,” she said.

“However, we couldn’t have done any of it without the help of our generous partners—Jenny K; Christopher R; Marjorie T; Mirvac – Mums & Co; Croxley Foundation; Allsafe Insurance Brokers, Aviso TAS Insurance Brokers; Eagle Insurance Brokers and Octagon Foundation—who joined together to double each donation that came in on the day.”

The Giving Day was the first time a Queensland-based not-for-profit had held this kind of one-day crowdfunding event.
