Mummy’s Wish release online guide for mums with cancer
27 July 2018

Mums who are undergoing cancer treatment anywhere across Australia can now access an online support guide thanks to a grant from Dry July Foundation.

Mummy’s Wish received a donation through the Dry July Foundation to update and expand Dealing with Cancer: A guide for mums and to publish it on our website, making it accessible to mums from Airlie Beach to Albany and everywhere in between.

This new 36-page guide provides mums with some of the basic information they need to know including how to cope with their diagnosis; tell their children they have cancer; ask for help from family and friends; and suggest ways to enjoy time with their kids, even when unwell.

It also features a page for spouses and partners; financial and legal assistance and important numbers. There are also links to other resources from organisations including Cancer Council Australia, Lifeline, CanTeen and Centrelink.

Printed copies of Dealing with Cancer: A guide for mums will be available from early July.

Thank you to The Sunday Mail for sharing this gorgeous image of Mummy’s Wish ambassador Carla Haddan and her son Billy, 9, to promote our 2018 Bear Appeal which aims to fund 1500 of our voice-recordable Comfort Bears to be sent out to mums who have been diagnosed with cancer so she can leave a little message for her child to hear when she’s away in hospital or unwell from cancer treatment.
