There’s never been a better time to support national charity Mummy’s Wish by joining the go Dry July(ish) campaign this month to help Mums fighting cancer.

The Go Dry(ish) July campaign challenges participants to go without alcohol for 21 or 14 days to help make a difference in the lives of Mums across the country living with cancer.
You can even purchase a Golden Ticket for $25 which gives participants a night off from their challenge while still making a difference.

Randwick mother of three Yvette Martin was only diagnosed with breast cancer in May but wasted no time in signing up for the nation-wide campaign setting a $10,000 goal to help support Mummy’s Wish and she’s well on her way raising more than $5,000 already.

“There I was living life, having fun with fun friends, enjoying a new home close to the beach, loving what I did every day and the impact I made in the world, then cancer,” the 43-year-old coaching consultant said.

But instead of being overwhelmed by the diagnosis, a connection with Mummy’s Wish has meant access to support and help with day to day living and now Ms Martin, who has three children aged 13, 6 and 4, is giving back hoping thousands will join her.

“I am so full of gratitude to live where I do with the support and systems set up to guide me through the next twelve months,” Ms Martin said.

“I’ve already had some wonderful and much needed support from Mummy’s Wish and the other ladies who are part of their community …. so I’m stoked that Dry July is out there to help everyone else get involved in supporting these great charities.

“I have so much love and support around me right now, so if you’re up for helping out too, for getting involved and helping others get the extra help, love and support they need while going through this same journey then I’d love you to make a donation to my Dry July fundraising page.”

Ms Martin said the national charity gave big to Mums when they needed it the most.

“I’ve felt held by them so much,” she said.

“Cancer is such a big thing but Mummy’s Wish is there to help with the daily lived experience.”
Ms Martin said giving up alcohol for July was one way people could be empowered to help change the lives of others.

Mummy’s Wish National Chief Executive Officer Angelique Ettia said the charity understood the words “you have cancer”.

“Our support is practical, timely and tailored to each mum,” Ms Ettia said.

Ëvery day we speak to Mums who have been diagnosed with any type of cancer and they tell us what they need and how much the support provided means to them.

“After all, a Mum with cancer is still a Mum.”

Ms Ettia urged people to support Mummy’s Wish and make a difference today stating ‘every dollar makes a difference’
